Attorneys and More scholars Louis Karlin and Jordan Teti will explore this question, as we discuss:
- More’s commitment to lifelong learning and his pursuit of integrity as a lawyer
- The California Rules of Professional Conduct – in particular, the duties to practice with integrity and competence
- Practical suggestions for continuing legal education for today’s lawyers, drawn from More’s life and writings

About The Presenters
Louis W. Karlin
Mr. Karlin is an appellate attorney and a Founding Fellow of the Center for Thomas More Studies and the CTMS’s Lawyer Education Director. Co-author of Inside the Mind of Thomas More: The Witness of His Writings (2019) and co-editor of Thomas More’s Trial by Jury: A Procedural & Legal Review (2011), Mr. Karlin has also published numerous articles on More and presented programs on continuing education for lawyers in the United States and London based on More’s writings.
Jordan D. Teti
Mr. Teti is a litigator in Los Angeles and author of articles on equity and lawyerly rhetoric in Thomas More’s writings. He is a Director of the St. Thomas More Society of Los Angeles and has led More-themed CLEs in Los Angeles.
